Prenatal Massage Therapy Safety Essentials Workshop

One Day Workshops

Even if you only work with an occasional pregnant client, you need reliable practice guidelines. Learn safe and comfortable prenatal positioning, technique contraindications, and the physiological and anatomical rationale behind these adaptations to usual practice protocols.

This one-day workshop highlights normal prenatal adaptations in each body system, and how that affects your work. You will practice a variety of positioning options for each trimester. You will have the basic foundation for working with a woman who is having a normal, low-risk, uncomplicated pregnancy.

With more and more expectant women enhancing their pregnancy experience with massage therapy, you need to know the essentials:

  • What are the normal physiological and functional changes women experience?
  • How do I safely and comfortably support her position on my therapy table?
  • What kinds of adaptations to my usual techniques should I make to safely massage pregnant women?
  • What are the signs of medical complications in pregnancy?
